Originalværket OMT 2/1
OMT 2/1 ”Original Muhammed Tegningen” er lavet i 2005 og den af originalværkerne han selv valgte at beholde personligt. OMT 2/1 er en af de to værker som Kurt Westergaard og gallerist Erik Guldager klassificerede som originale. Betegnelsen OMT 2/1 står for Muhammed Tegning 2/ fordi det officielt var anden gang Kurt Westergaard benyttede en Muhammedtegning /1 fordi det var den han efterfølgende tog fra til sig selv.
Kurt Westergaard beholdt personligt tegningen OMT 2/1 i flere år og det er første gang nogensinde at den kommer officielt til salg. Samlere fra hele verden har i flere budt på værket år forsøgt at købe det. Kurt Westergaards mangeårige gallerist, Erik Guldager – har personligt afvist talrige, tilmed meget store bud.
Tegningen har været bragt i snart sagt alverdens aviser og været meget omtalt i nu snart to årtier og globalt blevet genstand for, på den ene side ytringsfrihed og på den anden side blasfemi.

The original work OMT 2/1.
OMT 2/1 ”Original Muhammed Drawing” was made in 2005 and it is the edition of the original works which Kurt Westergaard chose to keep for himself. OMT 2/1 is one of the works, which both Kurt Westergaard and his art dealer Erik Guldager classified as original. The designation OMT 2/1 stands for Original Muhammed Tegning 2/ since it was officially the second time Kurt Westergaard made a Muhammed drawing, /1 since it was the one he subsequently chose to keep for himself.
Kurt Westergaard kept the drawing OMT 2/1 in private study for several years and it is now officially up for sale for the first time ever. Through several years collectors from all over the world have placed bids on the drawing hoping to purchase it. Erik Guldager has personally rejected numerous, even considerable offers.
The drawing has been printed in almost every newspaper worldwide and has been one of the most discussed satirical pieces ever, due to its provocative nature in the gray area between blasphemy and freedom of speech.
